This Multi-Year Accessibility Plan outlines Nordstrong Equipment Limited’s strategy to identify, prevent, and remove barriers for persons with disabilities, and to meet the requirements of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), 2005 and the Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation (IASR). This plan is reviewed and updated at least once every five years.

 

1. Customer Service

  • Ensure all staff receive training on providing accessible customer service.
  • Allow support persons and service animals in all public areas.
  • Maintain clear communication strategies and feedback mechanisms.
  • Provide notice of temporary disruptions in services.

 

2. Information and Communications

  • Ensure that all new and existing publicly available information is made accessible upon request.
  • Provide accessible formats and communication supports in a timely manner and at no extra cost.
  • Maintain a process for receiving and responding to feedback that is accessible.
  • Ensure company websites and web content meet WCAG 2.0 Level AA requirements.

 

3. Employment

  • Notify employees and the public of the availability of accommodation during the recruitment process.
  • Provide individualized workplace emergency response information to employees with disabilities.
  • Develop and maintain individual accommodation plans and return to work processes.
  • Ensure accessibility is considered in performance management and career development.

 

4. Training

  • Provide AODA and Human Rights Code training to all employees, volunteers, and policy developers.
  • Keep records of the training provided, including dates and number of participants.
  • Provide refresher training as necessary.

 

5. Design of Public Spaces

  • Meet the AODA Design of Public Spaces Standards when building or making major modifications to public spaces.
  • Maintain accessible elements of public spaces and document procedures for preventative and emergency maintenance.

 

6. Plan Review and Monitoring

  • Review and update this plan at least every five years.
  • Monitor progress and report annually.
  • Make the plan available to the public and in accessible formats upon request.
